Anitavee's Home Decor

Anitavee's Home Decor was established in 2000.  Previously a drapery workroom, we now focus on textile design as well as printing and creating decorative pillow covers. Our Sankofa Collection features our original African and ethnic inspired designs.

Our African Vibe fabric collection was born out of my frustration with the lack of availability of authentic and realistic looking African home decor fabric. Being a collector of African handwoven and hand dyed textiles,  I wanted to incorporate similar patterns in my own home decor.  After failing to find what I wanted,  I created a collection of textile designs using my own hand drawings, actual carved gourd Adinkra and mud cloth stamps, as well as hand carved wooden block stamps from Namibia.  I also photographed and then used Photoshop to create yardage of the actual kuba cloth, mud cloth, Kente Ewe, and other handmade vintage African textiles in my personal collection.  This enabled me to offer products and fabric yardage that has a more authentic appearance than what is currently marketed.
